Aanii,
On May 19th, we received confirmation that all schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. This includes First Nation schools. As of recently, each school had developed Learning Packages for the students who do not have access to data/wifii Thus, I have been working with the principals and teachers from each of the 5 schools to ensure that our students are getting their homework from their respective schools. In addition, most of the students have received their devices that they were using at school and have been provided with ‘hotspot’ wifii until their work had been completed.
And, if parents/guardians are not able to pick up packages, as long as it is safe to do so, I will pick them up. That includes dropping off completed work. On another note, the teachers and E.A.’s are available to students if they have difficulty with their work. Please contact the principal or vice principal to make that connection.
Lastly, I received a notification today from the high school that June 18th is the last day to submit all Learning Packages and the Online learning assignments are due June 19th.
These are challenging times, I commend the students and parents from the community who are working hard to ensure that the schoolwork is done and handed in.

Respectively,
Carol Stevens
